Dresden, Seestraße (Altmarkt Karree) – Burgermeister

The well-known Berlin-based burger chain is continuing its expansion and will soon open its doors in Dresden’s Old Town.

A new Burgermeister location spanning two floors and featuring a spacious outdoor terrace is being developed within a listed historic building complex, covering approx. 500 sqm. The location could hardly be more fitting: right in the heart of Dresden, between Altmarkt and Prager Straße.

This adds another exciting dining concept to Seestraße and brings a new hotspot for burgers and more to Dresden’s city center.

The opening is planned for 2026.

Berlin, Rosenthaler Straße – Flaconi

The beauty e-commerce specialist Flaconi has secured one of the few large-scale retail units in a prime location on Rosenthaler Straße, next to Apple.

This marks another milestone in the company’s omnichannel strategy. The new Berlin flagship store forms part of a nationwide expansion programme that includes three locations across Berlin, Munich and Frankfurt.

Rosenthaler Straße is widely regarded as one of Berlin’s most sought-after retail destinations. With its strong footfall, international brand presence and vibrant urban atmosphere, the area around the Hackescher Markt continues to reinforce its position as a preferred location for the market entry of innovative retail concepts and both established and emerging brands.

Under the “Beauty Now” concept, Flaconi will create a contemporary shopping experience that seamlessly combines digital and physical brand worlds. Planned features include dedicated experience zones such as the “Hair Care Club”, “Korean Studio”, “Niche Atelier” and “Pharma Lab”. In addition, the Berlin store will incorporate an integrated hair salon.

The opening of the approx. 800 sqm Berlin flagship store is scheduled for the second quarter of 2027.

Berlin, Akazienstraße - Ace & Tate

Ace & Tate has secured a new retail unit at Akazienstraße 22 in Berlin-Schöneberg. The Dutch eyewear brand has taken a lease on approx. 180 sqm of retail accommodation, further expanding its presence in the German capital. The store opened in early June.

The unit is situated in a highly regarded high street location within Schöneberg. Akazienstraße benefits from strong local demand and a diverse tenant mix, including independent retailers, cafés and design-led operators, contributing to consistent footfall throughout the day.

The property offers a prominent frontage and strong visibility within this established retail pitch, providing an excellent trading position within the wider neighbourhood retail environment.

Ace & Tate, founded in Amsterdam, is a contemporary eyewear retailer offering optical frames, sunglasses and in-store services including eye examinations, styling advice and fittings.

Munich, Buttermelcherstraße - Bolia Opens Flagship Store at Rosipalhaus

The Gärtnerplatz district in Munich is one of the city’s most dynamic retail and lifestyle destinations and it is now gaining a prominent new addition. The successful Danish design brand Bolia has secured one of the most prominent retail spaces in the area, taking over from the previous tenant Karley.

The new store will be located in the historic Rosipalhaus, a listed corner building in a prime, highly visible position on Buttermelcherstraße. Spanning approx. 500 sqm of retail space across two levels, Bolia will soon present its Scandinavian furniture and interior design universe here. The opening is scheduled for later this year.

The surrounding area between Gärtnerplatz and Viktualienmarkt has long been defined by urban concepts, strong footfall and a style-conscious, international clientele. Hamburg, Schulterblatt - Søstrene Grene is coming to Schanzenviertel

The Danish retail chain Søstrene Grene is opening a new store in Hamburg’s Schanzenviertel district. CITYJUNG successfully brokered the approximately 250 m² retail space on Schulterblatt.

The new store will feature a distinctive concept inspired by the layout of a city: wide walkways resemble boulevards, while narrower aisles evoke small streets and passageways. Tall shelving units are designed to resemble skyscrapers, while lower fixtures create the atmosphere of townhouses. Open spaces in between invite customers to explore and linger.

Søstrene Grene’s product range includes home accessories, small furniture, arts and crafts supplies, toys, kitchenware, stationery, and a wide variety of decorative everyday items in Scandinavian design.

With this new opening, Søstrene Grene’s network in Hamburg will grow to a total of seven stores. The company opened its first location in the Hanseatic city back in 2016. The grand opening is planned for June.

The successful brokerage once again highlights the strong appeal of the Schanzenviertel as a highly sought-after retail destination with strong visitor appeal and a vibrant atmosphere.

The popular lifestyle brand Butlers has opened a new store in the heart of Hamburg’s Schanze district. Thalia is set to open a new experiential bookstore in the heart of Kiel in autumn 2026. Spanning approx. 1,000 sqm on Holstenstraße, the store will offer a modern space for discovering and enjoying cultural events.

The bookstore will feature a diverse range of titles, a large children’s section, and a dedicated area for readings and events.

With the opening of a new store on Kurfürstendamm, Maison 123 is expanding it´s footprint on one of Berlin's most iconic shopping avenues. The French fashion brand brings its modern and elegant store concept to a prime city-center location on the "Ku’damm."

The new location highlights the continued appeal of Kurfürstendamm as a premier retail destination and enriches the area’s offerings with a high quality fashion concept. Maison 123 is already well established in Germany with approx. 30 boutiques and points of sale. Internationally, the brand’s branch network includes around 256 locations.

Munich, Theatiner Straße - Nile Clothing launches new store in exclusive shopping location

The established Swiss brand NILE Clothing, founded back in 1983, is relocating its existing store from the Fünf Höfe to an even more prominent location, right on the sought-after Theatinerstraße. The company focuses on a modern, urban look, often featuring subtle colours and clean lines. The designs are largely inspired by street culture and contemporary art forms.

With now 31 stores across Germany and Switzerland, NILE continues to strengthen its presence and position itself as a leading brand in modern streetwear.

The prominent corner unit, previously operated by Liu Jo, is scheduled to open in the spring of next year.

Cologne, Ehrenstraße - APM Monaco continues its expansion in Germany

The renowned Spanish jewelry and accessories brand Tous, founded in 1920, opens its first store in Germany on Berlin's most creative and vibrant shopping street: Neue Schönhauser Straße at Hackescher Markt.

With its opening in Berlin, Tous continues a tailored strategy that has already proven successful in cities such as New York and Valencia. The well-known Berlin-based burger chain Burgermeister has now chosen a site in the lively Feilitzschstraße neighbourhood of Munich-Schwabing as part of its nationwide expansion.

Burgermeister stands for honest, no-nonsense burgers made with high-quality ingredients at fair prices. The patties, made from Irish beef, as well as the buns and cookies, come from its own production and are baked in the company’s in-house bakery.

CITYJUNG was able to secure this prominent corner unit for the retailer off-market, which was further enlarged by incorporating the adjacent premises.

Munich, Reichenbachstraße - Off-Market Deal: Carhartt at Gärtnerplatz

The highly successful streetwear brand Carhartt WIP will soon open on approx. 185 sqm in Reichenbachstraße, located between the Viktualienmarkt and the popular Gärtnerplatz. The new store will be situated alongside well-known brands such as Kauf Dich Glücklich, Ace & Tate, and JUNGLÜCK. Carhartt takes over the space formerly occupied by the fashion label Annette Görtz.

The story of this renowned urban streetwear label dates back to 1855, when Hamilton Carhartt, the brand’s namesake, began producing durable and protective clothing for hardworking customers in the United States. In the US, the brand is widely recognised as a true pioneer in the workwear sector.

In 1994, Edwin Faeh founded Work in Progress, which has since served as Carhartt’s exclusive distributor in Europe.

Hamburg, Schulterblatt - Residential and commercial building in the Schanzenviertel sold

The residential and commercial building located in the trendy Hamburg district of Schanzenviertel, with a total rental area of approx. 1,400 sqm, has been sold by CITYJUNG Real Estate on an exclusive mandate from a family office to a private investor.

The property consists of a front building and a rear commercial yard. The retail space was used for many decades by the traditional company "Büromarkt Hansen." The property is now being redeveloped.

The Swedish retailer, known for its high-quality household appliances, opened its new Granit store on Berlin's Ku'damm on 18 October.

It is the third store in Berlin and the seventh in Germany.

Rails now in Germany

Californian lifestyle in Berlin-Mitte. For its first store in Germany, Rails has secured the approx. 70 sqm store, which was previously operated by Lee/Wrangler for many years and is characterized by a very large window front, in an absolute top location on Alte Schönhauser Straße.

In addition to Rosenthaler Strasse and Neue Schönhauser Strasse, Alte Schönhauser Strasse has become another popular shopping location at Hackescher Markt in recent years. Hip lifestyle brands in particular have set up shop here.

A playground for the imagination at Bikini Berlin

The Paradox Museum rents a space of approx. 1,000 sqm in Bikini-Berlin in Berlin's City-West. 

The exhibition concept, which was launched in 2021, currently has a total of 9 locations in Europe, North America and Asia, with 7 more about to open. The museum will open its first German locations in Berlin and Hamburg at the end of May. 

The Paradox Museum offers a magical experience with over 70 unique illusions and interactive QR codes to gain a deeper understanding of the complex science behind each exhibition.

Berliner Volksbank opens new location in Berlin's Schloßstraße

CITYJUNG REAL ESTATE has once again acted as agent for the Berliner Volksbank. After renting space in Friedrichstrasse, the company was now looking for a new location in Schloßstrasse, one of Berlin's most popular shopping streets. The bank will soon open its doors at Schloßstrasse 102 in an area of approx. 310 sqm. 

The property was previously occupied by two smaller retail units. In the course of the new letting, CITYJUNG was able to convince the owner (a community of heirs) to merge the spaces and convert them into a retail space suitable for the Berliner Volksbank. 

The Berliner Volksbank now has more than 170 branches in Berlin and Brandenburg.

Telekom with a new flagship store in the city of Dresden

Last week Deutsche Telekom AG celebrated the grand opening of their new flagship store on the “Prager Straße”. The telecommunication company operates in a store that covers approx. 290 sqm, which is located in an excellent position within the pedestrian zone.

The retail store, formerly used by Wöhrl, has been completely restructured and re-leased by the owner.

CITYJUNG REAL ESTATE was exclusively commissioned by the owner for the re-leasing.

CITYJUNG REAL ESTATE acquired the former Kennel & Schmenger store as part of an off-market deal especially for Aesop. The upmarket Australian natural cosmetic brand, which recently has been incorporated into the L’Oréal Group, will start trading on the approx. 100 sqm unit this year already.

AESOP comes to Kurfürstendamm

The Australian natural cosmetics label secures the space at Kurfürstendamm 17, which was previously used by Swatch for many years.

Almost a year ago CITYJUNG arranged the new location on Tauentzienstrasse in Berlin for the Swiss watch company.

For Aesop, the approx. 86 m² retail space is now the 4th store in Berlin.

Historic Office building sold in the heart of Frankfurt at Eschenheimer Tor

CITYJUNG has sold this fully commercial office building as part of a sole mandate by an international institutional investor.

The buyer is a private investor.

The property is situated in the heart of Frankfurt at Eschenheimer Tor within close proximity to the prominent shopping street “Zeil”.

The building which has now been sold individually, has originally been part of a bigger property portfolio.

This six storey corner location, which dates back to 1890 comprises of a very charming Art Nouveau facade and approx. 1,500 sqm of floor space which is leased to offices on the top floors and two restaurant chains on the ground floor.

Axel Arigato secures an approx. 300 sqm flagship-store in an absolutely prime location of Berlin´s Hackescher Market. The boutique bakery concept secured themselves a AAA corner location on Potsdam`s prime shopping street “Brandenburger Strasse”. This approx. 200 sqm unit has been formerly used by Starbucks.

Zeit fuer Brot further enhances the attractivity of Potsdam`s high street “Brandenburger Strasse” along with the recent lettings to Ikea kitchen studio and Bolia. The store is scheduled to open by the end of 2022.

The sports retailer Foot Locker has taken over a new retail store at Tauentzienstrasse 17. The unit was previously occupied by Mango. CITYJUNG Real Estate has leased this approximately 680 sqm unit to Foot Locker as a part of an exclusive lettings mandate on behalf of the landlord. The store is already open for business.

CITYJUNG REAL ESTATE sold the fully leased Mixed-Use commercial building in Dresden's trendy district “Äußere Neustadt" to an austrian Institutional investor.

The seller is a private investor. The building comprises of a total area of approx. 3,200 sqm. The main tenants are Netto and a kindergarten. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

The Spanish affordable luxury brand BIMBA Y LOLA will soon enrich Neue Schoenhauser Strasse at Berlin´s Hackescher Markt.

Montblanc-House in Hamburg`s trendy “Schanze” district sold

CITYJUNG REAL ESTATE who previously sold the building in early 2019 to investment manager Meyer Bergman, brokers the sale to Values Real Estate. This prestigious art deco office building is the largest, most prominent fully commercial property in the heart of Schulterblatt, the main shopping street.

This six-storey building comprises approx. 7 400 sqm of floorspace. Retail chains such as the H&M concept Weekday, Vodafone, the interior chain Granit and some restaurants are located on the ground floor. The upper floors are all leased as office space.

Values Real Estate acquired this mixed-use property with approx. 80 meters frontage to the AAA footfall part of Schulterblatt for their fund “Values Prime Loactions”.

CITYJUNG brings Humana Secondhand to AAA Friedrichstraße. This retailer has rented the approx. 550 sqm unit formerly used by Hammer Schuh and will open their store this year already.

Berliner Volksbank secures a new location on Friedrichstrasse, Berlin

In autumn this year, Berliner Volksbank will move into their new store on Friedrichstrasse 94. The previous tenant of the approx. 220 sqm space was Gina Tricot.

Since early this year CITYJUNG REAL ESTATE has been extensively searching for a new location for Berliner Volksbank and is pleased to have secured this AAA unit on Berlin`s Friedrichstrasse.

The Berliner Volksbank eG was founded in 1946. With more than 205,000 members and total assets of 14.7 billion euros in 2019, it is the largest regional cooperative bank in Germany. Core of its business model is the customer proximity, holistic cooperative consulting and a regional focus. In accordance with its cooperative development mandate, it sees itself in particular as a partner to small and medium-sized commercial enterprises in the Berlin and Brandenburg region.

Ace & Tate soon to open in Regensburg

Ace & Tate was able to secure an area in Regensburg at Neupfarrplatz 2, thus increasing the attractiveness of Regensburg's retail trade. Ace & Tate will take over the space in March.

Prime Office Building on Mannheim`s AAA highstreet (Planken) sold

The very prominent office building which is situated on Planken/ Friedrichsring/ Fressgasse Mannheim`s prime city center location was sold on a sole mandate from an international investor. The eight storey corner building with approx. 11 000 sqm floorspace marks the entrance to the highstreet “Planken”. The majority of the rental space is leased to Deutsche Bank. The building was sold to a german institutional investment funds in a structured process.

Former Power Transformer Substation in Berlin Neukoelln sold as an Office Development

CITYJUNG REAL ESTATE successfully sold the former Power Transformation Substation in Berlin`s trendy Neukoelln district on Richardstrasse to an international institutional investor.

This unique landmark building, dating back to the 20`s will be redeveloped for office use. Furthermore on the same plot, a new build office development of approximately 2,600 sqm will additionally increase this projects attractivity.

Building was sold by a private vendor.

 

 

Ace & Tate soon to open in Mannheim

CITYJUNG has once again secured a new retail store for Ace & Tate, this time in Mannheim. Ace & Tate will already open their approx. 90 sqm unit in this prime corner location in the first quarter of next year. Previously the store was operated by Rituals who have already relocated their store to Planken.

CITYJUNG acquired this shop for Ace & Tate specifically, and negotiated this deal on behalf of the tenant with the landlord.

CITYJUNG brings two new tenants to Oranienburger Strasse in Berlin`s Hackescher Markt

CITYJUNG Real Estate has leased two retail units on Oranienburger Strasse 4-5 as part of an exclusive mandate to Steiff and Hofpisterei. Both tenants will further enhance the attractiveness of this retail location in Berlin`s Hackescher Markt.

The tenant Kauf Dich Glücklich has leased a retail space of approx. 90 sqm in trendy Berlin Neukoelln on Reuterstraße 29-30. The store is already open for buisness.

Prior to this, CITYJUNG Immobilien Berlin has sold this building to D&R Invest as its new owner. We are happy to place a successful chain store like Kauf Dich Glücklich in this trendy upcoming area.

CITYJUNG brokers retail area in Timmendorfer Strand to Label Kitchen

Following their stores in Bielefeld, Hamburg, and on Sylt, the premium clothing company Label Kitchen will open another branch store with approx. 80 m² in a prime location in the holiday resort Timmendorfer Strand. The opening is scheduled for spring 2019.

Portfolio sold in Hamburg's Schanzenviertel

CITYJUNG sold the portfolio, comprising of 4 assets, and located in Hamburg's trendy "Schanze" district to an international real estate fund by sole instruction of a Dutch family office. In total, the mixed-use properties comprise approx. 2,538 m² of retail space, approx. 5,416 m² of office space, and approx. 1,457 m² of residential space.

 

CITYJUNG sells the Eickhaus Building in Essen

The renowned Eickhaus Building in Essen, Kettwiger Strasse 1, which has been let to Anson´s for many years and marks the entrance to the Kettwiger Strasse pedestrian zone, was sold to DWI Group Hamburg.
The seller is a Dutch family office. The listed property with a floor area of approx. 6,500 m², which is located opposite Essen's main railway station, is being redeveloped to provide high-quality office and retail spaces. CITYJUNG sold the building as part of an exclusive mandate.

CITYJUNG brings Ace & Tate to Heidelberg. Ace & Tate has rented an approx. 100 m² unit in Heidelberg at Hauptstrasse 78 and moved into the premises at the end of 2018.

Aachen, Adalbertstrasse 53-55

CITYJUNG acted as sole agent for a Dutch family office on the sale of this AAA high street asset in Aachen. The property is located on the absolut best part of high street Adalbertstrasse, directly opposite the new built shopping center "Aquis Plaza".

The building, built in 2008, was sold to an institutional investor. It contains approx. 5,000 m² of floor space and is primarily leased to the retail tennants New Yorker and Goertz.
 

CITYJUNG brings Hans im Glück to Berliner Platz in Kiel

The Hans im Glück burger chain opens its first branch in Kiel. CITYJUNG brokered the pavilion previously used by Starbucks. The opening of the restaurant with a floor area of approx. 235 m² is scheduled for the first quarter of 2019.

In this highstreet property currently under construction on Schlossstrasse, the prime shopping street in the southwest of Berlin, Woolworth has rented a sales area of approx. 1,000 m² on two levels. The store is expected to open in autumn 2019.

CITYJUNG brokers a 4th store in Germany to Love Stories, with approx. 100 m² in Munich. Prior to this CITYJUNG already successfully leased Love Stories their stores in Berlin, Hamburg and Cologne. The transaction in Munich was part of an off-market deal.

In Eisenach, CITYJUNG brokered a retail unit of around 1,150 m² on two floors to the drugstore chain dm. The company will take over the new premises in the winter of 2018 after the conversion of the commercial building at Karlstrasse 36-42. The opening is scheduled for 01.03.2019.
